Out of all people, children are the ones with the most unhygienic eating habits and that area needs a great deal of attention. Some institutes are still ignoring the fact that they don’t just need to provide students with academic schooling, but are also required to add proper physical education routines into their curriculum. This will make young learners strong both mentally and physically.
Spending 7 to 8 hours in school can be a stress-full routine for many young students. Providing them with sports-based activities can help them stay active and learn teamwork and sportsmanship. There is a difference between human beings and machines and humans especially the little ones do not always adjust easily to hectic academic schedules. You can’t tell a child to stop eating chocolates but what you can do is, tell him/her to go play football or cricket in the playground.
That will not just keep them away from obesity, but all sorts of other diseases as well. On the other hand this will also improve their attention span and make them highly active and happy at the same time. All of us have been to schools and as we’ve become adults, most of the things that we remember better to this date, include activities like, sports day, drama competition, debating society, martial arts training and so on. Why is that we don’t remember our history lecture or mathematics class assessments anymore?
Providing physical education to students should be one of the sole purposes of any admin running an academic institute. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and that is why it is essential for schools and colleges to introduce newer and better ideas to shake things up a little. Physical exercise is good for mind, body and spirit.
Team sports are good for learning accountability, dedication, and leadership. Putting it all together by playing a sport is a winning combination. Playing sports is an emotional, mental and physical adventure. You have the opportunity to learn what you’re made of and to determine if you’re a team player or a maverick. As with any adventure, there are risks involved; but experts agree that the advantages are worth it. Participating in sports by playing safely and smartly can enhance the student’s overall well-being.
Most of the students studying in the primary level are not even sure why they are going to school. Playing sports rather than sitting in class reading lessons is always what a student is looking forward to. Even a little child feels stressed and tensed if he/she is not provided with some kind of extra-curricular activity that is why sports, talent shows, debate competitions and many similar events mostly take place at the primary level.
Once a child grows up and becomes a teenager, he has plenty of time and resources at home or during weekends to play and hang out with friends, relatives or families. Younger students don’t have enough capacity to play heavy sports so schools and colleges of all kinds need to spend some of its revenues on various extra-curricular activities in order to improve student health, judgment and self-confidence.
